Here is the latest Android N release update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Samsung began pushing out the the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in January. Now according to new reports, the company is planning to roll out Android N operating system to some of its devices this year.
Android N was revealed by the search giant Google at its annual developer conference event I/O 2016. At present, the beta version of Android N is available for download. However, exact release of the Android N will happen after a few months.
According to a SamMobile report, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, S6 Edge+, S6 Edge and S6 will be the first to get the Android N operating system. It is believed that these Samsung devices will receive the firmware in the fourth quarter of 2016. Reports also suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will get the Android N OS in 2017.
Google’s Dave Burke has said that the Android N operating system will be launched later this summer. It means that Android devices eligible for the Android N update will receive the update within this year.
At present, the public beta of Android N is available to Nexus devices via over-the-air; however, it is just for testing. The update comes with features such as improved Java 8 language support, Extra power efficiency, Data saver, bundled notifications, VR interface, multi-window, Improved file browser, Clear All and direct reply notifications, CNET reported.
Android Marshmallow was launched in September last year. Samsung took five months to roll out the new operating system. Owners of Samsung devices in the United States began getting the Android Marshmallow update in March. However, many Samsung owners are still waiting for their Android Marshmallow OS update.
With Android N operating system, owners will find it easier to view the handset updates and respond to new notifications. Now, the revamped notifications menu will have a quick reply function so that owners can reply to messages without opening the messaging app. In addition, notifications will feature a summary for each app.
