Close on the heels of announcing the flagship Honor V8 smartphone, Huawei is allegedly gearing up to unleash another phablet which is being hailed as the most beautiful handset from the company.
The mysterious device in question is the Huawei Honor 8 which has leaked online and will reportedly release in June.
GizmoChina shared a leaked image of the Honor 8 phablet which will boast a 5.2-inch screen, making it smaller than sibling Honor V8. A leaked document the site has shared shows that the Honor 8 allegedly has the model number FRD-AL00 and FRD-AL10, suggesting that the Huawei handset may have two variants. The publication supposes that the two model numbers could be an indicator of support for different networks.
According to the publication, the Huawei phablet is still in development and has been codenamed “Faraday.”
The distinguishing feature of the Huawei Honor 8 smartphone which will make it stand out from a bevy of other handsets could potentially be the glass, which is on both sides of the handset. Speculations are rife that not just the display, but the rear panel of Honor 8 will also have a 2.5D curved glass along with metal frame.
This aspect will make the Honor 8 a visual treat, possibly making it the most beautiful phone available in the consumer market.
Like its predecessor Honor 7, the latest iteration of the smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch display. Taking a cue from the latest Honor V8, the upcoming smartphone will house a dual-system 12-megapixel camera.
Under the hood, the Honor 8 is anticipated to be powered by a Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 chipset and house 4 GB of RAM. The smartphone could potentially offer wireless charging support and pack in a 3,000 mAh battery. The Honor 8 is also expected to boast an IR blaster and a USB Type-C port.
If Huawei sticks to the release cycle it maintained for the predecessor Honor 7, i.e. June, the Honor 8 could make its debut this month itself.
